questionnaire for sex workes
Hello everyone I am a graduate in psychology in Italy and I'm doing research on sex workes who have worked or are working with people with disabilities.
Seeking people interested in responding to an anonymous questionnaire either by mail for a site (the questionnaire is in English or German or Italian).
I have a lot of data that I have served for my thesis and I am continuing the search, but I need more data.
I wanted to know where to post my request on this site
Thanks to those who respond
debora

SW research guidelines
Hi debora,
here you find some general guidelines on sex work research
www.sexworker.at/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=95145#95145
about citations
www.sexworker.at/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=37584#37584
about ethics
www.sexworker.at/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=37383#37383
Many things have already been told and published here. Refer to this Sexworker Forum as a big low-threshold database of sex worker knowledge, whore wisdome and FAQ. Use the search function to find topics you are interested in...
We hope your research will be made available to the sex worker community, after it is accepted by your university and you provide us with a link or pdf. We can host it here later as we have done with many other studies, which are now available for you.
Good luck,
Marc

Re: debbylu's Italian psychology research on us
Questions about your questions!
And serious concerns.
> "7.) To when do you trace back the onset of your interest to people with disabilities?"
What do you mean by "interest"?
Isn't it more about "recognition" or "awareness"?
> "8.) A: Does this interest make you feel uncomfortable?
B: If so, in what situations?
C: Have you ever had sexual intercourse with an able-bodied person?"
Do you follow the research assumption, that sex with a disabled client is a personal fetish?
> "9) Why have you started to exercise this kind of work?
• For money
• For devotion [Hingabe, vgl. Tempelprostitution(?)]
• For need to take care of disabled people
• I’d rather not say"
As far as I am concerned, there are millions of answers to this question!
Why not give an open answering field?
The main problem with society and sex work i.e. research and sex work is that it is so diverse and no limitations possible!
> "11) Is your work as sexual assistant always paid?"
Uncompensated (unpaid) labour is not sex work, I would say. Cf. marriage.

> "12) Have you ever had any lasting (>12 months) relationship with an amputee/anyone with a disability out of work context?
• Yes
• No
• I’d rather not say
13) Have you ever had sexual intercourse with an amputee/anyone with a disability out of work context?
• Yes
• No
• I’d rather not say"
14) What do you find most attractive about people with disabilities?"
Is a relationship with that type of clients you deliver services to at you job a prerequisite for any work you know or is this a valid assumption in your understanding for sex work?
Sex workers do not need to find their clients attractive in order to deliver good services and then to become highly sought after as paid sex partners!
> "15) As a child, did you feel loved by your parents? Yes
• No
• I’d rather not say"
And here the anti-sex work, feminist preoccupation is revealed, that sex workers are sex workers because they have been traumatized during childhood...
Average poppulation

> "16) Have you ever felt interest to people with mental disabilities?
17) Do you think you might ever feel interest to people with mental disabilities?"
Possibly sex workers have some mental disabilities themselves?
For me this questionnaire is not acceptable, but rather insulting us sex workers!
Is you questionnaire tested?
Will there be a non-sex worker and/or a non-disabled client sex worker control group?
I would love to see the release and letter of confirmation from the ethical research review board of the university.

It does not need to take surveys to learn about what sex workers think, want or need.
